Fall is the Perfect Time for a Picnic

The Prince Edward Island Fall Flavours Festival gets underway on Friday, September 6th.  We’ll be celebrating the bounty of the harvest for the entire month of September.  Its our most favorite time of year.

On Saturday, September 7, Cavendish Grove, within the PEI National Park in Cavendish will be home to Picnic in the Park with Food Network’s Chef Corbin. You will be treated to a relaxed down home picnic with the culinary quality of a fine dining restaurant. Enjoy live entertainment, chef demonstrations and have the opportunity to meet Chef Corbin who will be hosting our first live Black Box Competition! Come and chat with local chef’s from The Pearl Cafe, The Olde Glasgow Mill, Chez Yvonne’s, Carr’s Oyster Bar, Chef Jeff McCourt and Chef Austin Clement.

When your picnic experience has ended, enjoy a walk through the trails within the PEI National Park and enjoy a walk on the famous Cavendish Beach.  Cavendish Grove is our best kept secret. Take a short walk or a long one. Most trails lead you to the beach.  We love fall in the Grove when the air is crisp and fresh.

Start your day off at Picnic in the Park with Fresh Island Shucked Oysters served by Carr’s Oyster Bar, fresh-made Chanterelle Mushroom Soup or Seafood Bisque prepared by The Pearl Cafe and fresh-made salads created by The Olde Glasgow Mill.

Then chow down and enjoy 3 delicious entrees:

Island Cider Braised pulled pork, Aged Gouda Corn Bread pudding, Spicy Slaw – Created by Chef Jeff McCourt and featuring Fresh Cheese Lady’s Gouda
