Frequently Asked Questions – PEI Dream Cottages

What Precautions and Policies are in place in relation to COVID-19?

At PEI Dream Cottages, our guest’s and staff’s safety are our number one priority.

It seems the world has changed overnight, and like you, we are taking it day-by-day. We trust this will pass and although we will never return to the way things were before, we are looking forward to the day when we can safely welcome our guests back.

We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and are taking the proper steps to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. When we open our doors for the 2020 season, we will be put into effect heightened precautions for sanitization, disinfection, and cleaning measures. We will also be installing hand sanitizer dispensers in each cottage as well as common areas.

For the 2020 season, we will also be implementing a new Extenuating Circumstances Policy. This policy will protect travelers from cancellation penalties due to travel advisories or safety precautions imposed by WHO or our guests jurisdiction’s government in relation to viruses, including COVID-19.

We look forward to welcoming you to the North Shore when it is safe to.

Where are you located?
We are located in Stanley Bridge, Cavendish Resort Area off Route 6 in Seawood Estates. All private summer homes have a spectacular view of New London Bay.

Is there a beach or pool?
There is a pebble stone beach across the road in front of our private summer homes. Perfect for kids to play and dip their toes in the water. The national park beach is approx. 10 minute drive on Route 6. Guests staying in Stanley Bridge can use the outdoor heated pool located at Bosom Buddies, approx 10 minute drive.

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be received by April 1. If you cancel outside of our cancellation policy and we can rent the private summer home during those dates, we will refund your deposit minus a $75 admin fee.

You may wonder why we have this policy and it is not similar to that of a hotel? Cottage bookings are very different. By holding the cottage for you for months or even weeks in advance, we have turned down many opportunities for bookings. Unlike a hotel, cottages are booked in advance for the most part and when you cancel it is often very difficult for us to rebook the cottage.

To protect you against unforeseen circumstances we highly recommend vacation rental cancellation insurance. No one plans for unforeseen circumstances so this is the best way to ensure peace of mind when the unexpected happens.
