What Precautions and Policies are in place in relation to COVID-19?

At Cavendish Bosom Buddies, our guest’s and staff’s safety are our number one priority.

It seems the world has changed overnight, and like you, we are taking it day-by-day. We trust this will pass and although we will never return to the way things were before, we are looking forward to the day when we can safely welcome our guests back.

We take standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and are taking the proper steps to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. When we open our doors for the 2020 season, we will be put into effect heightened precautions for sanitization, disinfection, and cleaning measures. We will also be installing hand sanitizer dispensers in each cottage as well as common areas.

For the 2020 season, we will also be implementing a new Extenuating Circumstances Policy. This policy will protect travelers from cancellation penalties due to travel advisories or safety precautions imposed by WHO or our guests jurisdiction’s government in relation to viruses, including COVID-19.

What are the hours of operation of the front office?
Our front office hours are from 9:00am until 9:00pm (July & August). Hours of operation in off-season is 9:00am – 5:00pm. If you will be arriving after 9:00pm please contact us at 1-800-363-3449 to arrange a special check in for you.

Where are you located?
We are located in the heart of the Cavendish Resort Area at 84 MacCoubrey Lane off Route 6. We are just minutes driving distance away from Cavendish National Park, Canada’s top golf courses, Anne of Green Gables House, Shining Waters family fun park, restaurants and shopping. Our cottages are located on top of a hill with a panoramic view of the ocean.

Can I walk to the beach?
Yes! We are a 15 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute drive into the Cavendish National Park. National Park vouchers are available to purchase at our office for additional charge.

Do you allow pets?
We at Cavendish Bosom Buddies love pets and understand a family vacation sometimes includes your pet! Pets are welcome but we do ask you follow some of our pet friendly policies. There will be an additional $20 cleaning fee charged per pet for each night of your stay with us. We ask pets are not to be left unattended in cottage or barking which causes disturbances to other guests. We also ask that pets are leashed at all times on the grounds and if left in your unit while you are gone, please utilize your kennel as our staff will be entering to provide your daily housekeeping.

What is your check in and check out times?

Check in is typically 4:00pm on the day of arrival however please call us in advance and if your rental is available earlier, we will be happy to check you in early. Check out is at 10:00am on day of departure.

What is the deposit required to book?
To confirm your reservation with us, we do require a deposit at the time of booking. A $200.00 deposit is required at the time of booking your accommodation in our one bedroom Executive Suite, One bedroom Executive Cottage and Two bedroom Executive Cottage. A $300.00 deposit is required at time of booking your accommodation in our Three bedroom Executive Cottage and Four bedroom Executive Cottage. *Please review our cancellation policy at time of booking.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Cash.

Will I need a credit card upon arrival?
Payment is due in full at check-in.

What is your noise/damage policy?
We ask our guests to be respectful of their neighbours. Excessive noise is not tolerated and if we receive any complaints from other guests, a warning will be given. If excessive noise continues and a second warning is given, a disturbance fee may be applied to your credit card. The same policy is in place if the cottage has incurred any damage during your stay with us and a damage fee will be applied to your credit card.

No stag or stagette parties accepted.

What are the dates of operation?
We operate from May – October.

Where can I watch the sunset?
Prince Edward Island has beautiful sunsets which you can view from your cottage deck or walk down to the beach.

When is the Cavendish Beach Music Festival?
July 10 – 12 2020. Cavendish Beach Music Festival policies

  • 5 night minimum stay required
  • Rates increase during the Cavendish Beach Music Festival
  • A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to confirm your reservation and is valid from time of booking
  • A $500 noise & damage authorization will be required at check in. No parties or large groups allowed, quiet time is 11:00pm, zero tolerance for excessive noise or disturbance.
  • A credit card is required at check in for pre – authorization
  • Guests will receive a bracelet upon check in. Guests that are not wearing bracelets will be asked to leave. Cottages cannot exceed the maximum number of guests. – Please no visitors.
  • Reservations are non transferable.

What is the tax rate on PEI?
Prince Edward Island has a harmonized sales tax of 15%.

What will the weather be like?
Spring is comfortable. Late May and early June are alive with colour and temperatures usually range from 8 to 22 degrees C (46 to 71 degrees F). Summer is hot, but rarely humid. We wear short sleeves. Daytime temperatures are usually in the 20s (70s) and can go as high as 32 degrees C (90 degrees F). Autumn is clear and bright. September afternoons can be quite warm, evenings cool. Temperatures range from 8 to 22 degrees C (46 to 71 degrees F). Winter is crisp and clean. Temperatures usually range from -3 to -11 degrees C (26 to 11 degrees F).

What amenities do the cottages have?

  • Garbage & Bottle Service is provided daily. We ask that you leave garbage in your outside bins and have bottles on your deck ready for pick up by 11:00am daily

  • Private deck with picnic table and barbeque for cottages; executive suites have a shared deck space

Is there wireless internet on site?
Yes, wireless internet access is accessible in all Suites & Cottages at no extra charge.

Do you allow tents or trailers to be set up beside our cottage?
Cavendish Bosom Buddies and PEI Dream Cottages do not allow tents or trailers to be parked overnight on the rental properties. Please note there are 4 great campgrounds close by. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this policy.

Are the cottages non smoking?
We are a smoke free establishment.

How do I get around?
There are a number of car rental services, some available at the Charlottetown Airport, to rent a car for your vacation. Taxi service is also available from the Charlottetown Airport to Cavendish Bosom Buddies. Fare is approximately $60

What is the driving distance from the Charlottetown Airport (YYG)?
We are a short, 40 minute drive from the Charlottetown Airport.

What do we need to bring with us?
Everything is provided for you during your stay with us. We recommend you take beach towels as linens are not permitted outside the cottages.

We also have Sandspit Amusement Park passes and Shining Waters Family Fun Park passes available at the front desk.

Where is the closest Liquor Store?
There is a small private Liquor Store located at the Cavendish Tourist Mart (5 minute drive). A full service liquor store is located in North Rustico (10 minute drive).

Where is the closest Grocery Store?
Cavendish Tourist Mart offers convenience grocery shopping (5 minute drive). There is also a grocery store located in North Rustico (10 minute drive).

Are cribs and high chairs available?
Yes, we offer these at no additional charge. It is recommended you request items at time of booking to ensure availability.

What is the cancellation policy for Cavendish Bosom Buddies?
The Guest acknowledges that because of the short rental season in Prince Edward Island, they are buying the time available in the cottage and they own that time slot.

For cancellations received 30 days prior to the arrival date, deposits will be returned in full, with the exception of a $12.00 credit card processing fee. For cancellations received 30 days or less prior to your arrival date, your full deposit will be non refundable. Unfortunately there are no exceptions to this policy. Should you reserve for a certain number of days and leave before your reserved departure date, you will be charged one night or 50% of remaining balance, whichever is greater.Unfortunately there are no exceptions to this policy. It is the individual responsibility of each guest to look after vacation rental insurance to protect themselves against unforeseen circumstances.

To protect you against unforeseen circumstances we highly recommend vacation rental cancellation insurance. No one plans for unforeseen circumstances so this is the best way to ensure peace of mind when the unexpected happens.

How do I cancel my reservation?

As a courtesy if you can’t make your reservation and its less than 30 days prior to arrival you still need to contact us to cancel or unfortunately, you will be responsible for the entire stay.

 What are the booking/cancellation policy for your sister property PEI Dream Cottages?
To confirm reservation there is a 30% deposit required at time of booking. Deposits can be made by  VISA or MasterCard. The balance is due 30 days prior to your arrival. In the event of cancellation after April 1 deposit is non refundable unless we can rent the property. If we can rent the property we will refund deposit less $75.00 administration fee. PEI Dream Cottages recommends that all visitors invest in traveler’s insurance.
